We are a passionate and open-minded group of software enthusiasts, and together, we are the global market leader in software intelligence. We have made it our mission to ensure that millions of people worldwide have a flawless digital experience, made possible through a unique combination of observability, automation, and AI - all compacted into one cloud-based software intelligence platform. Our platform operates across every cloud, multiple cloud-native technologies, and large-scale enterprise environments.
OneAgent is the foundation of Dynatrace’s observability platform, enabling automatic and intelligent data collection across diverse environments, from cloud-native workloads to traditional infrastructure. OneAgent is responsible for gathering all monitoring data from the stack, from hosts and infrastructure, through applications, containers, services, processes, network communications, real-user/browser interaction, logs, etc.
Expanding the product team, we are looking for a visionary Principal Product Manager to drive the evolution of OneAgent with the rest of OneAgent Product Managers, product leaders, engineering teams, and platform specialists. This collaboration will give you a unique opportunity to influence strategy, set direction, and deliver meaningful outcomes that ensure our instrumentation remains cutting-edge, scalable, and deeply integrated with the Dynatrace platform. You will be at the heart of defining how OneAgent adapts to emerging technologies, scales with modern architectures, and continues to deliver intelligent, seamless observability to our customers.
Your responsibilities:
- Together with product leaders and fellow Product Managers, you will define the product roadmap, shape both near-term and long-term strategy, and balance the right level of investment between ongoing improvements, maintenance, and innovation.
- Collaborate with top-tier teams in engineering, design, and go-to-market to deliver seamless, impactful integrations that WOW customers and create value-add that sells and impacts product adoption in a measurable manner.
- Collaborate closely with other OneAgent Product Managers and partners to ensure that OneAgent-specific features, services, and changes are anticipated, integrated, tested, and released.
- Establish and own success metrics / KPIs for OneAgent performance: stability, instrumentation latency, coverage (e.g. languages, frameworks, runtimes), resource overhead, startup/install complexity, upgrade & auto-instrumentation behavior, failure modes.
- Work with internal customers (other R&D departments, support, sales, customer success) to gather feedback, define requirements, and prioritize integrations that drive customer value.
- Ensure that the OneAgent product maintains high compatibility across OSes, virtualization / container platforms, cloud/hybrid/on-premises setups.
- Drive continuous improvement (e.g.: cloud, containers/Kubernetes, serverless, new programming languages / runtimes, frameworks, real user monitoring, front-end instrumentation, edge & IoT).
- Represent the voice of the customer and market and technology trends in shaping how telemetry is captured across modern and legacy environments.
- Manage dependency and Drive alignment with broader platform initiatives, including Grail, AppEngine, and Unified Observability.
- Act as a companywide accepted expert that drives knowledge not only into the organization but also to the customers.
What will help you succeed
- 7–10+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in cloud, data ingestion, observability, or integrations.
- Experience working with enterprise customers and B2B SaaS products.
- Proven experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of product managers, lead engineers, lead architects, designers, and other business stakeholders.
- Deep technical understanding of agent-based monitoring / instrumentation: how agents work (runtime instrumentation SDKs, process injection, native vs managed, etc.), observability signals (metrics, traces, logs), and performance trade-offs.
- Familiarity with multiple OS platforms (Linux, Windows, possibly others), containerization / Kubernetes, virtualization, cloud and hybrid infrastructures.
- Experience shipping a product that works at large scale: low overhead, high reliability, cross-platform compatibility.
- Ability to balance maintenance / technical debt / performance / feature development.
- Innovative thinking - ability to bring market and business understanding into the product to deliver differentiated value for customers and prospects, aligned with Dynatrace’s goals and strategy.
- Proficiency in data analysis to drive informed decision-making and measure product success.
- Strong ability to engage with both customer-facing and internal technical teams (support, engineering, architecture) to gather requirements, expose issues, prioritize roadmap.
- Strong communication skills towards team, peers, and stakeholders alike: can operate at both high strategic level (vision, business case) and detailed execution (specs, architecture trade-offs).
- Proactive and hands-on personality with high drive and a dynamic mindset.
- Clear sense of ownership and accountability as well as a bias for action.
