Your role at Dynatrace

Our Java Agent is a core part of the Dynatrace Platform for automatic instrumentation of Java applications. Dynatrace OneAgent collects all relevant metrics (including hardware, operating system, and application processes) along 100% of the customers' application-delivery chain. Over 8 million Java Agents are already deployed today, monitoring critical customer applications and platforms. 
 
Your job as an Agent developer is to implement new features, improvements and changes to our Java Agent.

Your role 
 
  • Analyzing and gaining an understanding of the inner workings of common frameworks through debugging, interrogation and similar 
  • Engineering of performance and availability monitoring solutions including design, development and ownership 
  • Developing primarily with Java with a little C++  
  • Gaining a deep understanding of Java and its ecosystem 
  • Leverage AI in your day-to-day development tasks 
  • Close cooperation with local and international engineering teams 

What will help you succeed

  • Several years of experience as Senior Java Software Engineer 
  • Proficient working knowledge of core Java APIs 
  • The ability to focus on details but keep the mind open for the whole ecosystem  
  • Team player and eager to learn innovative technologies 
 
Preferred Experience 
 
  • Advanced understanding of the Java Virtual Machine on topics including garbage collection, time and memory overhead, bytecode fluency 
  • Major hyperscaler SDKs including AWS, Azure, GCP 
  • Third-party / open source libraries, frameworks and applications servers such as Spring, Kafka, Apache, Tomcat and many more  
  • Modern C++

Compensation and Rewards

  • Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to list a salary range for this position, which is €61,000 up to €92,000 gross per year based on full-time employment (38.5 h/week).
