Senior II/Principal Product Experience Designer (m/f/x) - Dashboards and Notebooks
Your role at Dynatrace
The other half of the work is AI: what it should be in a product like this. Not a chatbot bolted onto a dashboard, but interfaces that help people notice the right thing, ask a better question, and trust what they're told when it matters. That space is still being figured out, and you'd help define it.
In this role, you will:
- Own hard data visualization and interaction problems end to end, from flow to detail, alongside PMs and engineers who treat you as a peer.
- Build, don't just mock. Work in code and ship interactive artifacts you can test with real users.
- Define how AI shows up in the product: when it should surface something, and when it should stay quiet.
- Set the craft bar for the area and raise the people around you, including helping engineers make better design calls.
- Use AI to clear your own routine work so your time goes where judgement is needed.
What will help you succeed
- A hands-on senior or principal designer who has shipped software products and is still deep in the craft.
- Craft in dense, data-heavy interfaces. You sweat the details others miss.
- Technical fluency. You follow the engineering conversation and design for the domain, not around it.
- Balance depth and speed. AI makes output fast and cheap; knowing when it's wrong is the scarce skill.
- Judgement about which problem to solve, not just how to solve it. You question assumptions, form your own opinions, and keep moving when the problem isn't yet defined.
When applying: we read portfolios as design work. How you structure and present a case study tells us how you think. We look for:
- Depth over breadth. 1 or 2 complex projects, well documented.
- Work close to this: enterprise, B2B, SaaS, developer tools, or data-heavy interfaces. No direct match? Show your closest analog.
- A clear account of the problem, your role, the decisions, and what shipped.
- A real reason for applying to Dynatrace. Time with the product goes a long way.
