Lead Stock Plan Administrator

The Lead Stock Plan Administrator is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of employee equity compensation programs, including stock options, restricted stock units (RSUs), and employee stock purchase plans (ESPPs). This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, facilitating smooth operations, and providing administrative support to employees and executives. The Lead Stock Plan Administrator will coordinate with internal teams (e.g., HR, Legal, Finance) and external service providers to maintain accurate records, manage transactions, and communicate effectively with employees regarding their stock plan benefits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of equity compensation, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills with a customer service approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer and manage the company's stock option plans, RSUs, ESPP, and other equity-based compensation programs.
- Maintain accurate participant records, including grant details, vesting schedules, and transaction history.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting and supporting filing requirements (e.g., Form 4, 10-K, 10-Q).
- Coordinate the stock option and RSU grant processes, including approvals, documentation, and communications to employees.
- Process stock plan transactions, such as stock option exercises, RSU vesting, and ESPP purchases, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding stock plan details, including vesting schedules, tax implications, and transaction procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Payroll, Legal, Finance) and external vendors to ensure the smooth administration of equity programs.
- Prepare and distribute plan-related communications to employees.
- Engage with internal and external auditors, supporting efforts related to SOX controls and compliance.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices to ensure the company’s stock plan administration remains competitive and compliant.
This is a remote eligible position. Candidates who live within a 45 mile radius of Boston, MA; Detroit, MI; and Denver, CO; will be required to work hybrid (2 days per week) out of our Dyntrace office.
This position will give preference to candidates who live in the Boston, MA area.
What will help you succeed
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in equity compensation, stock plan administration, or a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Preferred Requirements
- Knowledge of equity compensation regulations (e.g., IRC Section 409A, SEC filings) and tax implications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with equity management software (E*TRADE) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to employees.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in stock plan administration (e.g., Certified Equity Professional - CEP).
- Experience with global equity compensation plans and cross-border tax implications.
- Must have public and global company experience.

Compensation and Rewards
DOE, salary $116K - $145K, plus Health, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, 401K, PTO. Total compensation may vary depending on candidate experience/education and location.
